About Mountain Guiding

I offer professional guidance and instruction in all forms of mountain travel: ski, rock, and alpine. I meet or exceed industry standards in training and certification for guiding, medical response, and environmental stewardship. I am not just a working guide but also an author, explorer, and educator; and I strive to bring depth and authenticity to every trip.

I received my training through the American Mountain Guide Association (AMGA), which is a member of the International Federation of Mountain Guide Associations (IFMGA/UIAGM). This license allows me to work around the world.

For my mountain bike guide certification, I received my training in France with CNSNMM and received the BPJEPS-VTT license.

Trip Locations

During a typical year, I spend most the winter ski guiding in La Grave, France, where my home base is located. La Grave is an off-piste ski mecca that should be on every skiers hit list. I also travel some, from Chamonix to the Lofoten Islands of Norway. There is always a possibility to travel further, from Alaska to Japan. Similarly in the summer, I work mainly in the European Alps, alpine and rock climbing. If there is an adventure calling to you, just let me know. The Himalaya, Andes, Cascades, and Antartica are just a plane ride away!
