ALASKA, USA

Oh Alaska… it’s as good as they say. Wild, rugged, steep mountains, big glaciers, and very few people around. Every skier should ski here at least once in their lives.

SKI PLANE EXPEDITION

My favorite way to experience Alaska is what I like to call “plane camping.” We take a plane onto a quiet landing spot onto a glacier in the middle of nowhere. After unloading all our gear and food for the week, the plane takes off and we are left by ourselves to have an epic ski adventure! From the basecamp, each day we wake up and ski what looks best. These types of ski expeditions are incredibly fun and like nothing you’ve ever experienced before!

Valdez

My second favorite trip in Alaska is staying in Valdez and skiing up on Thompson Pass. While its well known for its heli-skiing up there, what you might not know is that the ski touring is phenomenal! Each day we drive up to the pass, park and ski from the car. There are couloirs, glaciers, summits, and a hotel to sleep in every night. Valdez is amazing!
